Safety Guidelines

Before customizing and launching your own store via PingBusiness store launcher, you need to remember and adopt these key habits for safety and security purposes, especially if you are not well versed with handling deployment.

1. Your merchant key never goes in a chat message.

It goes into a file on your own computer, and from there straight into Railway’s protected settings. Anything you type into a chat may be stored in that conversation’s history.

2. Practice before you go live.

Do the whole thing in practice mode with a test key first. Test orders won’t charge anyone.

3. Watch for a live key against a practice shop

A test order can become a real charge on a real card. A good assistant catches this and asks you what to do about it.

4. Only one door should be open

Your shop’s address is the only part reachable from the internet. The database and the sign-in system sit behind it, unreachable from outside. If an assistant proposes exposing them “to make
testing easier”, say no.

5. You approve anything that spends money.

Adding cards, changing plans, going live with real payments. If something got created that you didn’t approve, ask it to remove it.
